In last month’s Gallery Competition we set the public a challenging theme of ‘The Great Outdoors’, a theme which we had hoped would get the entries flowing and we weren’t disappointed. We received a huge variety of wonderful photos – beautiful, rural, landscapes throughout the seasons, colourful wildlife, and nature in all its natural glory.

On February 9th, the winners of the inaugural Nicolas Corbin Memorial Prize competition sponsored by Wex Photographic were announced in a ceremony at The Fairhurst Gallery, Norwich.

Last year, the staff here at Wex had a competition running to shoot the best photo of a ‘W’ and you can see some of our results in the image above. So, we want to extend the challenge to you! How would you fancy a brand new Canon EOS 7D Digital SLR camera with 15-85mm IS USM Lens worth £2,399.99? That’s what we’ll be giving away to the person who takes our favourite ‘W’ photo.

The May WEX Gallery competition theme was ‘Call of the Wild’ and I must admit we were pretty excited about seeing some impressive entries. We certainly weren’t disappointed, the quality of images submitted was very high and it was definitely a tricky one to judge.

We saw an outstanding reponse to the first WEX Gallery competition of 2011 and we’re pleased to report that we received the highest level of entries in the history of the comp! With such a high standard of images submitted this month, it was by far one of the most difficult we’ve had to judge. Here are the winning photos for January 2011…

Back in October we posted about our support for the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) Red For Heart Photography Competition and after weeks of red photo inspiration and hundreds of entries, we’re now excited to share the winning photos!

Warehouse Express community members once again turned in some stunning photographs for the monthly WEX Gallery competition. Each year our judges award one of these winners £250 to spend at Warehouse Express and the Photograph of the Year title. We’re pleased to announce the 2010 winner is Martin Chamberlain with his powerful shot of a Sadhu.

This is our fifth Story Behind the Photo feature and this time HDR photographer Barry Chignell shares one of his portraits that features the colour red.
