Pentax announce the new mirrorless K-01!

Yesterday (Thursday 2nd February 2012) Pentax announced the launch of the Pentax K-01, a mirrorless interchangeable lens digital camera that joins the ever-popular Pentax K series. As well as supporting all the Pentax K mount lenses and D-SLR accessories, the K-01 also supports the dedicated XS lenses and comes packaged with an incredibly slim (1cm thick) 40mm F2.8 XS lens to match its design.

Today Pentax announced the brand-new Q interchangeable lens system camera and five accompanying Q-system lenses. The Pentax Q boasts a range of features and claims to be the “world’s smallest and lighest interchangeable lens system camera”

Tough going on The Ben

I shall start by getting straight to the point; I wanted to buy a tough camera that could accompany me on my climbing, walking and canoeing trips and I’d narrowed my choice down to one of 4 point and shoot cameras; the Panasonic FT3, the Fuji XP30, the Olympus TG-810 and the Pentax WG-1 GPS. As such, in an act of selfless generosity I offered to review of all four during a trip to Scotland to climb Ben Nevis.

A new weather resistant Pentax 100mm f2.8 macro lens has been revealed today, designed to complement the class leading weather sealing of the Pentax K-7 digital SLR. Underwater Imaging World – Pentax W60

There were a host of underwater displays on show at Photokina 2008, not least of which was the Photokina Underwater Imaging World. Over 250 square meters of the massive show were dedicated to giving visitors an underwater experience and showcasing how best to take good photos of underwater scenes.
