Hot on the heels of the D300s and D3000 announced recently are two new Nikkor lenses: a completely new 70-200mm f2.8 VR II and an updated 18-200mm f3.5-5.6 VR II. Both of the original versions are hugely popular – and any enhancements are bound to make their successors very tempting…

The new Nikon D3000 digital SLR is a petite take-me-everywhere camera with a bold tagline: “The DSLR made simple”. The D3000 looks like a D60 replacement; it combines features from its older D5000 sibling with exceptional value for money which made the D60 a success.

The new D300s is Nikon’s latest flagship DX digital SLR and without a crystal ball it’s no fuss to predict the main upgrade: HD video recording – the hot trend in 2009. The real question is what else has changed between the D300 and the D300s?
