Yes you read the headline correctly – the new Nikon D3s has an ISO range maxing out at 102,400 (HI-3) and in our books that makes it a bit of wild child. The ‘S’ designation isn’t just a quick slap & dash adding D-movie mode though. 720p HD video capture is included, but the D3s also offers serious refinements for professional photographers.

In digital age terms, I was a long term user and a big fan of the Canon EOS 5D Mk II’s predecessor, the 5D. I spent far too much time scouring Canon rumour websites looking at the speculative guesswork and supposed leaks from official sources about the Mk II before it had even been announced (maybe I should get a life!).

And all of a sudden it’s here. Today Nikon launched their hotly anticipated, new, fabulous, high-end professional digital SLR, the Nikon D3x. With twice the number of photosites on its sensor than that of the Nikon D3, the Nikon D3x features a 24.5 megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor, a broad ISO range, Live View and 50MB 14-bit NEF (RAW) files, amongst other things.
