Why I Love My Olympus Art Filters

The Olympus Pens launched a renaissance for photography, an anti-nerd emphasis on the camera as man’s image making friend. Capturing the moment is capturing the mood and that’s not just what you see so adding Art Filters made perfect sense for Pen photographers. New ones have been arriving steadily but I could have lived without them until… now!

Tough going on The Ben

I shall start by getting straight to the point; I wanted to buy a tough camera that could accompany me on my climbing, walking and canoeing trips and I’d narrowed my choice down to one of 4 point and shoot cameras; the Panasonic FT3, the Fuji XP30, the Olympus TG-810 and the Pentax WG-1 GPS. ColorRight Pro White Balance Tool

It’s often argued that in order to end up with great images, you need to ensure that you’re capturing the right colours to start with in the camera. Looking like a cross between a camera filter and a snow-globe, the ColorRight Pro promises to be “the ultimate white balance solution” and is the latest white balance tool to find itself in my camera bag.

The Bushnell Trophy Cam Kit

“As seen on BBC One’s ‘Lost Land of the Tiger’”. That’s what the publicity blurb says, so as I consider how I’m going to set about testing and reviewing the Bushnell Trophy Cam, I can’t help but feel that any footage I get is going to be somewhat dull by comparison. Still, I’m sure I can find something to do with it – just one question; what exactly is the Bushnell Trophy Cam?

Olympus XZ-1 – yet another enthusiast camera?

These lens fetish cameras are trying harder than ever to add the SLR magic that people want – even if they don’t know an f/stop from a g-string. Of the enthusiast compacts I’ve tried recently, the XZ-1 strikes the best balance of pros and cons.

Olympus E-PL2 Review

Although any camera has to stand on its own, the E-PL2 benefits from the retro vibe which the rest of the Pen line is steeped in. It’s a good looking camera from the front and sits between the ultra stylish P1 and the functional PL1.

Nikon P7000 Review

The P7000 is Nikon’s first enthusiast bridge camera to follow the latest trend for fewer better pixels. It has a 10 Megapixel sensor – right on the current fashion and matching the G12 and Panasonic LX5 which are its main competition in a shopping list show down.
