This morning (7th Feb) Canon have announced the introduction of TWO new digital SLR cameras into their EOS line-up. I was invited to Canon UK’s HQ in Woodhatch to see what the new models would be and, more importantly, have a little play with them.

You can be forgiven for not having come across the diminutive GoPro HD Hero before – it’s not what you might call a main-stream camera. Put simply, it’s a small, compact and easy to use HD camcorder and stills camera, capable of recording video in full 1080P high definition or capturing great quality 5 megapixel still photos. We were trying to work out who the 60D is aimed at and judging by what weʼve seen so far, quite a wide range. Sounds like more of a conclusion than a mid-review statement, but it needs quantifying long before we get to the end piece. I think this is where Canon have been quite clever, the 60D is accessible from all angles and from all levels, whether you’re moving up, buying a main or even a second body.

If you’ve bought (or been bought) or are buying a digital SLR camera you may have already discovered that the camera itself is just one of the many things you need to make the most of it. While some are just nice to have, others are absolute essentials. In this guide we will look at both kinds; those accessories that you should not consider buying a camera without and those which you may want to put on a “wish-list” for another day.

But what options do flip out screens offer? Are they just a gimmick, or do they really give more creative freedom? I decided to go to extreme lows and highs with my Canon G11 to see what difference this variable-angle screen could make.

The G series has always made a great case for keeping your serious shooting compact and since Canon have decided to stay clear of competing in the micro system market, this is their middle sized enthusiast offering.

Surf-wear manufacturer Rip Curl teamed up with Timeslice films to shoot some professional surfers using the “bullet time” technique – a visual effect that allows the audience’s point-of-view to move around the scene at a normal speed while the action unfolding is played out in slow motion. What makes this particular project so interesting to us at Warehouse Express is that the video was created using 52 Canon DSLRs!

Canon’s release of the S95 has excited comment from many bloggers and review sites as to whether it is a worthy update on its predecessor, the S90, which was very well received but had a couple of niggling problems. With these in mind I took the S95 on holiday with me to Ibiza for a thorough trial run.
