Picture perfection – New Nikon D3x DSLR

And all of a sudden it’s here. Today Nikon launched their hotly anticipated, new, fabulous, high-end professional digital SLR, the Nikon D3x. With twice the number of photosites on its sensor than that of the Nikon D3, the Nikon D3x features a 24.5 megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor, a broad ISO range, Live View and 50MB 14-bit NEF (RAW) files, amongst other things. You can find a full list of specifications and further details on the Warehouse Express Nikon D3x page.

“This is the camera that many professional photographers have been waiting for. The results speak for themselves: this is without doubt our highest-quality camera to date.”

Robert Cristina, Manager Professional Products and NPS at Nikon Europe.

The Nikon D3x delivers superb image resolution of a practically unprecedented quality, making it the perfect choice for commercial and fashion photographers, who will appreciate the way this new model has stepped up the game. Of course, at its price point, this camera is markedly a camera for those who are serious about their photography.

Speaking of which, Andy Rouse, digital SLR expert for us here at Warehouse Express has already taken a glance over the specifications of the new camera.

“The Nikon D3x will keep its target market happy and I think a lor of amateur photographers will want to own the flagship too. It is undoubtedly the most high specification camera that Nikon have produced and will convert more and more film photographers to the digital world.” – Andy Rouse.

You can read the full version of Andy’s review of the Nikon D3x on the Warehouse Express site.

So it seems that Nikon have pulled another beauty out the bag with the advent of the Nikon D3x and just in time for Christmas too! Perhaps if you’ve been a very good boy or girl this year, Santa might have a special surprise for you when he comes down your chimney in a few weeks time…

Tell us what you think about the new full-frame addition to Nikon’s range of DSLRs…

  • Pass on this one.
What no anti dust? Bit to pricey for me too! But not aimed at me..
    See what Nikon do next… D3s, D4, D400, D700xs???
Typical Nikon, I think, slowly slowly catchy monkey.

  • Nikon have really missed the target for me! I wanted a dust cleaner and as good ISO performance as the D3. I would have been willing to pay £1,000 over the D3 not nearly £3,000 (or £2,000 once prices stabilise). I thought Nikon were above chasing pixels – why sacrifice more important features for pixels most of us don’t need. I’ll stick with my D700 – got most of what a D3 offers but with decent dust cleaning!!! Poor show Nikon !

  • i afraid chaps you both miss the point of the d3x its squarly aimed at the high end high fashion large stock image photographers we forget the cannon have a high end camera (1ds mk111) i here no moaning about the price there as for dust protection not a deal breaker is it .this camera simply takes amazing photos it ticks most of the boxes a typical high end photographer needs as for nikon moving slowly well i think they are doing pretty well 3 full frame cams in there range not bad going is it . nikon generly are slow to bring out pro models but when they do i think they get it right.
    keep taking good pictures

  • as far as i’m aware nikon can’t physically fit a sensor cleaning system in without reducing viewfinder coverage. as a pro i’d much rather have the 100% in the viewfinder than 95% (as in D700). this camera is aimed at working professionals – as for cost, yeah i’d like it to be cheaper as i’m saving for one at the moment – but its in line with canons flagship – can’t blame nikon for this
