Kicking off the WexWorkshops is ‘Getting the Best from your Digital SLR‘, a Beginners course in association with Canon, which aims to enable you to take better pictures and improve your photography confidence by explaining the principles of photography. The day will cover aperture, ISO, focal length, histograms and exposure, in a mixture of classroom and hands-on time – see the full itinerary.
Getting the Best from your Digital SLR will also take a look at workflow and printing to make sure you don’t keep your great images trapped inside that memory card forever!

Regents Park Conference Centre - 22nd August 2009
Situated in the centre of Regent’s Park in London, the Regent’s Park Conference Centre is easily accessible from Baker Street and Great Portland Street underground stations and the West End of London.
Leeds
Weetwood Hall – 29th August 2009
One of the largest conference centres in the north of England, Weetwood Hall is the perfect location for the WexWorkshops. Easily accessed by the M62, A1M and the M1, Weetwood Hall is just 4 miles from the centre of Leeds with free parking for over 170 cars.
Edinburgh
Mercure Point Hotel & Conference Centre – 5th September 2009
The Mercure Point Hotel & Conference Centre is situated in the centre of Edinburgh, just minutes from Edinburgh Castle. It can be accessed via the A8.
Times
Getting the Best from your Digital SLR Photography Course runs from 10am until 4pm and refreshments and lunch are included in the price of your ticket.
In association with Canon
Getting the Best from your Digital SLR is run in association with Canon and Canon products will therefore be used to demonstrate the various techniques. There will also be demo cameras available for you to play with including the Canon EOS 450D with 18-55mm lens, Canon EOS 50D with 18-200mm lens and 17-85mm lens. In addition Canon will have an asortment of other lenses, a Speedlite 430EX and additional photographic kit that they will demonstrate and explain. Non-Canon users are more than welcome to attend however, as the theories of photography apply to whatever brand of digital SLR you use!
