In the second installment of our Story Behind the Photo feature, we’ve invited Warehouse Express’ Ben Weeks to share one of his images and answer a few questions. We hope it gives you a little inspiration to enter the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) Red for Heart photography competition – all you need to do is snap a photo that incorporates the colour red!

I think you would agree that very few photographers find fame in their own lifetime and even fewer find fortune. Bob Guccione, who died recently at the age of 79, found both. Guccione was the founder, photographer and editor of Penthouse magazine and his work was literally faultless – flawless in every way.

There are two very interesting photographic exhibitions coming up which are both well worth a visit: The Eadweard Muybridge exhibition at the Tate Gallery and The Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2010 at the National Portrail Gallery. The BHF is asking entrants to snap a photo that incorporates the colour red, so to give you a little inspiration, a range of photographers will be sharing a photo they’ve taken that features the colour red on the WEX blog over the coming weeks – starting today with this fantastic image by wildlife photographer Richard Peters.

Try to imagine this nice tranquil scene in the Aves household; there we are all relaxed and cosy in front of the fire watching TV together on a Sunday night – what could be nicer? How was I supposed to know it would all end in argument and disagreement, and all over some photographs?

If a picture paints a thousand words, then a video must equate to an entire library. With that in mind, Adobe created a sneek-peak video to show off exactly what this new tool can do. If you’re not already familiar with the “Content Aware Fill” tool and aren’t blown away by this video, then there’s something clearly wrong with you…

We’re very excited to announce our support for the British Heart Foundation’s second annual Red For Heart photography competition! The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is calling all photographers to capture the theme Red for Heart by snapping a photo that incorporates the colour red.

Colour management is the process which allows you to manage and match all of the devices in your digital workflow, including digital cameras, monitors and printers and ensures that the colours you see on your screen match those that you print and project.

You don’t have to take my word for just how good the video capabilities of the latest breed of digital SLR cameras are. There have been many short films put together by various photographer and film-makers to showcase just how good the performance is, and now even the Hollywood big boys are sitting up, taking notice and using these SLRs in their work.

For the benefit of any of you that are interested in the Photokina happenings, but didn’t want to travel to Germany, weren’t able to go to Germany, or, like some of us, had to stay behind and work while your colleagues went to Germany, we will be updating you with all the latest goings-on via the WEX blog and Twitter. What’s more, in an exciting new venture for WEX, we will be bringing you a visitor’s-eye view of some of the stands and products in the form of WEX TV video clips!
