Hi, I currently have the 20D which has devoloped over £400.00 of faults. It has been a great camera since i got it when they first came out. I have been looking at the 550D as it seems to be the latest equivalent (in terms of features) to the 20 D.

Have you an opinion ?

Regards Oilyboy

Hi Greg (Great name BTW).
That's a tough one - the 50D has a faster framerate and shorter blackout time which is great for sports and as you say they're about the same price.
I think the 550D makes it easier to get the shot - with the auto-iso feature and very similar AF.
You say you don't have much interest in video - is this currently? you might find it quite handy - esp. for wildlife or even action/sports. You can't go wrong with either camera to be honest - both are great - for me i'd miss the ability to shoot video and the frame rate isn't an issue for me.... I also love the light weight of the 550D - it's a real gem.
Hope that helps!

I'm looking to upgrade from my 350D to something a bit more modern. I am wrestling between the 550D and the 50D - with cashback is looking really competitively priced currently. I can't stretch to a 7D.

So, any advice? I don't have much interest in video - mainly wildlife, landscapes, action/sports, and poncing around with arty stuff.
